Appreciating the beauty of the traditional costume from the 3 main races in Malaysia.
From magnificent tribal head-feathers with bark body-covers to antique gold-wovenroyal songket fabric, the array of Malaysia’s traditional costumes and textiles are stunningly diverse and colourful.
Inspiration are from traditional attire such as the Malay baju kebaya, Indian saree and Chinese cheongsam.
The shape of each single costume has their own characteristics. Transforming the characteristic to catch eye-attention and keeping the unique characteristics of each traditional costume from the different races in Malaysia.

TITLE : The Cityscape of Australia

The concept was to compose the cityscape of Australia into the restaurant. It was developed though composing different elements of Australia to make it up as a whole and rearrange it to fit between one and another. In Australia, the city and the breath-taking natural landscapes, despite having contrasting attribute, coexisted in the way that they complement each other. This innate exchange of scenery was what I want to incorporate in my design – roughness in perfection. The design also reflected on Australia’s landscape, human being and its rich history. The bustling city life, their relaxing lifestyle, various tourist attractions and even small component like the reef, rock and road, all which contributes to make Australia stood out among all other countries played a part in the design process. Combination of these elements brought out the concept of dining destination, it was as though the customers were having a fine dining experience in Australia itself, perceiving the country’s exclusive sense of encounter. The design was undertaken as ‘an investigation of the links between body, memory, and ritual, intended to celebrate Australia in its true essence.

MIMAME IS A THREE ART PIECES ́ COLLECTION FOR THE SENSORY PLEASURE. The pieces are designed to activate different sensations in our body, combining distinct materials and textures which are connected so that we could enjoy a unique experience. We belong to this multi-sensory world in which our perspective changes constantly. Our actions and thoughts are influenced all the time by what we receive from our environment; what we touch, what we see, in short, by what we feel.

The pieces ́ visual strength, the sensuality of their shapes, or even the own weight of the materials, together with the gentleness of the feathers, the cold of the metal and the glass or marble’s perfection, allow us to experiment a moment of sensory pleasure, which generates a direct link with them.

MIMAME invites us to experience the reality of the senses, creating a feeling that goes beyond the impact that it produces. They caress our glance. A trip across the surprise, the emotion, the desire, the excitement, the relaxation, the balance or the curiosity.
