The ring I created uses 12 boxes that stack and un-stack with a hinge mechanism. To do this I bent and scored each box and assembled them together in the shape of a tower. On the boxes, I photo-etched an image of the Leaning Tower of Pisa so that when they are stacked one on top of the other they resemble a tower. I chose this image because of its narrow, slanted design and upward.

TITLE : Rome
NAME : Kristin Fiorvanti
NATIONALITY : USA
COURSE : Painting and drawing
One memorable instance was in my Latin class during high school. Throughout this class, I developed a wider understanding of the history of Rome, Italy’s capital, and became particularly interested in its art history. The grand marble statues always caught my eye and left me in awe and wonder. In order to capture that awe, I decided to create the piece entitled “Rome” using black and white charcoal. On 9x12” black paper, I drew a veiled and promiscuous Roman woman whose look stands out on the paper just as it does in Rome.
