Week 2 Summary – This week we had our architecture and logo design classes, our first art visit and went to Rome for the weekend!

Monday, May 8 | In our architectural design class, I showed my professor different privacy solutions that I had sketched on my iPad for the vertical windows in my villa.

Monday, May 8 | For dinner today, we had pork chops and mashed potatoes. During dinner, we discussed the various places we would like to visit in Europe!

Tuesday, May 9 | Today we had our first logo design class! Our professor started the lecture with a presentation showing us the evolution of famous logos. After that, he asked us to brainstorm some logo designs of our own to use for our personal brand or future business.

Tuesday, May 9 | After class, we walked around Florence! We found a cute café to study and lots of shops!

Wednesday, May 10 | During our class, we learned about different materials we can use for various furniture pieces within our project!

Wednesday, May 10 | For dinner, my roommate made more chicken parm with spaghetti! It was delicious! We also spent this evening planning future trips around Europe!

Thursday, May 11 | In today’s architectural lesson, we discussed problem solving and documenting design solutions and strategies! Our professor expressed that it is important to see progression and evolution in our projects!

Thursday, May 11 | We had our first art visit to the Santa Croce Area! We walked from our school all the way to Ponte Vecchio!

Friday, May 12 | Today, we headed to Rome for the weekend! I got to see the Colosseum for the first time! It was huge!

Saturday, May 13 | Today we spent all day exploring the famous attractions throughout Rome! We visited the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, the MAXXI Museum, Villa Giulia, and St. Peter’s Basilica. After walking a total of 23,499 steps, we ended our night in the Trastevere area!
