Interior Design vol.11 – One Year 2018 (r.s)
Image#1-16: We have experienced our first field trip in the Lastri where they are cutting, trimming, and furnishing stone materials such as marbles, granites, clays, and woods. We have seen those materials that were before cutting and furnishing, and also they were after polished.

Image#2-5: Those are uncut or unpolished granites and natural marbles.
I never seen the natural stones like in the condition. That was quite good experience to get to know the beginning of the process.

Image#6-12: We got to see the inside of the factory. They had some featured machines to polish and cut which I never seen before. We have learned the process of polishing marbles and cutting them.

Image #13-16: They also had the material library. We have learned several ways of polishing and furnishing the materials. And, we got to know how to distinct whether it is artificial or natural.

Image# 17-22: We have also visited the furniture store near the factory on Tuesday. They have amazingly beautiful and creative furniture. We explored a lot and got inspired of designing furniture and interior design.

Image #23-31: We have been in the Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore for the Friday Art Visit. They spent 150 years to complete it. They started exterior and facade with the gorgeous decoration. Then they built the columns and the alter. This cattedrale is famous for the cupola by Brunelleschi. Before he made the cupola, he went to join the construction project of the parthenon in Rome. The dome at the parthenon became the model of the cupola because he learned how to make the dome shaped roof work. Because Brunelleschi took time to learn to make perfect cupola, the catedrale took more time to be completed.

At Accademia Riaci, we are recruiting Course Reporters from our students. The students who are chosen to become Course Reporters are given 10 % of the tuition as their scholarship fee.
