Textile Design Short Course (#19) – Tomomi W
Textile design lessons started this week. The teacher is Ms. Gioia, who also taught us in the painting course. The brush strokes and other techniques we have learned so far can be applied to textiles as well.今週からテキスタイルデザインのレッスンが始まりました。教えてくださるのは絵画コースでもお世話になったジョイヤ先生です。これまで学んできた筆の運び方などはテキスタイルでも応用が効きます。
First, we prepared white, light blue, red, and black fabric scraps and compared the differences in the appearance of the colors of the fabric inks. We also found that once we painted white as a base, we could see the colors clearly by placing the color on top of the white. Then we drew a circle in white and practiced drawing on it.はじめに白、水色、赤、黒の布切れを用意し、布用インクの色の見え方の違いを比較しました。また、一度下地として白を塗ってから色を載せることではっきり見えることが分かりました。それから白で丸を描いて、その上に絵を描く練習をしました。
I drew four circles and would like to tell a story about them.1) An Italian Gelato store was opened in Antarctica.
4つ丸を描いたので物語にしてみたいと思います。
1) イタリアンジェラートの店が南極にできました。
2) Penguins heard a rumor and decided to buy it.2) 噂を聞きつけたペンギンが買ってみることにしました。
3) Penguin was surprised at how delicious it was…4) (The fourth picture is not drawn yet. I haven’t decided yet whether he dropped it or his body color changed to ice cream color. LOL)

4) （4枚目はまだ描いていません。落としたか、身体の色がアイス色に変化したか、まだ決めていません。笑）
After the lesson, of course we went for gelato.レッスン後はもちろんジェラートを食べに行きました。
On the weekend we went to Viareggio to watch the carnival.週末はカーニバルを観にViareggioへ行きました。
There were many people dressed up in costumes, and I also wore a muscella and asked some people for a picture.仮装をしている人が多くて、私もマスケラをして何人かの方に写真をお願いしました。
I was lifted up for some reason.なぜか持ち上げられました。
It was the first time for me to see a carnival up close, but it was very powerful and interesting.カーニバルを間近に観たのは初めてでしたが、迫力があって面白かったです。
