This student is working on the Norwegian-style (stitching) soles.
The main difference from the Goodyear-style and others, is that the Norvegian-style sole doesn’t have any groove in the external part of the “muretto”.
Make a cut at about 7mm from the edge of the insole, then make the groove for stitching.
The groove adapts naturally to the sole shape as it gets closer to the central part.
