Furniture Design One-Year Course (#9) – K T Truong

Furniture Design blog Continuing with using Acrylic and the concept from the orange squeezer, I came up with some ideas also for kitchen equipment, this time are bottles.
Furniture Design blog For Renaissance class this week we learned about Sandro Botticelli – the big human in the first period of Renaissance. His paintings are known for soft and elegant style.
Furniture Design blog The weather was getting pretty hot lately in Florence that made me crave for gelato more than usual. This time I tried the famous handmade gelato shop neared the Duomo. I had black sesames and chocolate hazelnut flavour, so good, the flavour was so rich.
Furniture Design blog Art visit this week we visited one of the important churches in Florence – Basilica di Santo Spirito. Actually I had already visited the church once during my first days arrived to Florence but I still felt amazing the second time I stepped inside the church.
Furniture Design blog My teacher was helping me to make a mock up for my bottle project using the available tube in the class. That was very nice of him. The teacher knew how important it was to check out on the real product compared to just the drawings.
Furniture Design blog Thanks to the teacher I was able to touch and feel the size of my idea product, through that I could have a better look to adjust my model.
Furniture Design blog This weekend I tried to make a Florence dish using stale breads called Pappa Al Pomodoro. I also made the salad with peaches as they were in season now, arugulas and Burrata cheese. I think both the dishes were good for this weather.
Furniture Design blog What a coincidence that this Sunday was also the first Sunday of the month when some of the museums in Italy offered free entrance hence I took that chance to visit Uffizi Galleria. I was able to admire Botticelli’s masterpiece Primavera in reality.
Furniture Design blog One of the impressive artist that could create the light effect so real – Gherardo Delle Notti. All the shades, the light directions, the shadows etc showed he was such a talented and skilled artist.
Furniture Design blog The Gallery hold many of Botticelli art works and other famous artists as Leonardo da Vinci, Lorenzo di Credi, etc and most of them were kept in very good condition. To explore the gallery it usually take more than three hours but it was completely worth visiting.
