I am a 2nd year graduate student at Kyoto Institute of Technology.
I am studying architecture in Japan. In my university assignments, I am limited to designing only basic floor plans and rarely think about furniture and materials. However, it is necessary to design a concrete living space, and I have always wanted to learn how to do so. Architecture and furniture are inseparable when it comes to space creation. I chose the interior design course because I wanted to learn as much as I could about this.

Going to school in the morning
In the mornings, I either walk or take the streetcar to school, and since the mornings are already brisk in September, it is very pleasant to walk.
As for the streetcar, the school gave me a ticket for 30 trips, which was enough for me for 3 weeks.
When you get on the streetcar, you first put your ticket in the machine near the entrance and punch it in. The ticket is valid for 90 minutes from that time and you can ride as long as you want.
There is no ticket gate, so you can ride for free. However, every once in a while, a patrolman will come by and check you to make sure you are not cheating. If any irregularities are found, you will be fined 100€….

Lunch after class
I had a pizza at a nearby cafe with a meal ticket given by the school.
When this pizza was in the glass case, I thought it would come out cut, but was surprised to see it come out as it was, 15cm x 28cm in size. Italy is an expensive but very generous city.

Kitchen of the flat where I am staying
I often cook my own dinner here. The kitchen door opens onto a large courtyard, which overlooks the balcony of the apartment complex across the street.

Classroom
The teacher is drawing a perspective drawing while looking at my floor plan. Anyway, I was amazed at how quick he was and how perfectly proportioned he was. If I were an amateur, the balance would be off and the proportions would be out of balance, or the proportions would go out of order as he redrew the drawing over and over again.
I thought that if this technique existed today, when 3D rendering software is available, it would be the only one of its kind, and would be very useful. I will definitely wear it.

Cultural Activity
On Saturday, we went on an excursion to Bologna. The school provided us with tickets for the Trenitalia (Italian train), and we used them to go to Bologna.
Most of the architecture in Bologna had porticos with lancet arches. Looking at the city as a whole, it seems that the architecture is built close to the streets, just as in Florence, but from an eye-level perspective, I felt that the porticos made the walking space and market space wider. The city is built differently from Florence.

Siena
On Sunday, a Japanese friend of mine who was studying in Turin came to Florence for a visit, so we headed to Siena together. As it is a fortified city, there are many walls that are the remains of fortresses. Every time I find one, I feel an itch to see what is on the other side. The architecture made of bricks and stones seemed to be one with the ground because of its antiquity. They are like living fossils.
The famous Piazza del Campo was three times larger than I had imagined, both in terms of size and slope. You have to go there to understand its magnificence.
