I have studied Interior Design and basic fine arts at the University of Central Missouri, the United States. After getting BA degree, I have come to Italy to deepen knowledge and skills and learn new style at the field of Interior Design. Otherwise, I love meeting new people and culture, especially Italy does makes everything classy (beautiful). I like being in Firenze so far.

Interior Design vol.20 – One Year 2018 (r.s)

Image 1-18: For this Friday ArtVisit, we have visited to the contemporary art exhibition at the Museo Novevento. The artists are Exit Morandi, Medardo Rosso, Riccardo Guarneri, and Leonardo Ricci. The various artist’ works are video art, painting, sculpture, architecture, and goldsmith.
I was very excited to seeing this exhibition because I love contemporary art better than Renaissance art, to be honest. They rather talk about movements or conflicts at the society, the artist’s background, race, gender and environmental issues than religion or bible story. They always make me think, feel and motivate.
For example, the paintings of Exit Morandi are about bottles (still-life)(Image#2-6). He is a Bolognese painter. I felt sad or emptiness at his paintings because he choose neutral color scheme and empty bottles for the subject. But also I felt a little bit interesting at his point of view, and at how he set and looked at the still-lives.
About other paintings (image #7-16), the period in Italy when the artworks were created was about right after the world war. I could see the similar style or influence of impressionism, cubism, surrealism on those paintings.

Image 19-21: I had a painting class on this Saturday. We had a sketching lesson at the Loggia dei Lanzi and draw the statue of the Rape of Polyxena. It was quite hard to get the structure because the statue is huge and has a lot of movement.
