充填整形が終わったので、グアッシュでベースカラーを入れていきます（写真左側）。その後ニス掛けをし、乾いたら樹脂絵具で補彩に入ります（写真右側）。背景の色は単純な茶色ではなく、わずかに水色がかっていたり赤みがかっていたりと微妙にトーンの変化があり、欠損のまわりの部分とうまく繋げるのがなかなか大変です。より精密さが求められる顔の部分は、オリジナルのもつ表情を損なわないよう、丁寧に作業を進めていきます。… [Read more]

ようやく表紙が完成しました。色もはっきりとして見やすかったのでよかったです。デザイン自体は私がこれまで製作していたものの中で一番気に入っています。
中身も完成です。今日で授業が最終日だったので本当にギリギリです。けれど今までやって来たことを全て活かせた作品が出来上がったので満足です。最後に先生からありがたいお言葉をいただき、私のイタリアグラフィック修行生活がひと段落しました。

今回から聖人の肖像画の修復に入ります。工房に到着したときは木枠もなく、ぼろぼろに傷んでいましたが、裏打ちと絵具の固着強化、画面洗浄を経て、充填整形に入ります。充填剤を筆で欠損に詰め、まずは絵画層の高さまで平らに削ります。特に端の部分は損傷が激しく面積が広いのでなかなか大変です。その後、遮光でよく観察しながらキャンバスの糸目やマチエールを再現していきます。
