I went to the Academia Museum of Art because the museum is free on the first Sunday of every month. I used to draw a lot of plaster figures when I used to attend an art school, so there were raw plaster figures and videos of how they were made together with the exhibits. I used to just draw them, but after seeing the exhibits, I could learn how the uneven parts were made and the manufacturing process of them.

毎月第1日曜日はミュージアムが無料だということで、アカデミア美術館に行ってきました。前に画塾に通っていた時にたくさん石膏像を書いていたので、生の石膏像やその作り方の動画も一緒に展示してあり、今まではただ描いていたものでしたが、展示を見てからは凹凸の部分の作りやその製造過程を知ることができました。

My roommate’s friends always bring home dishes they learned in the home cooking class, which always makes our meals more lively. Tomatoes have always been on the table since I came here.

ルームメイトの友達が、ホームクッキングクラスでいつも習った料理を持って帰ってくれて、いつも食事が賑やかになります。ここにきてからいつもトマトが食卓に出てきます。

I was so happy because it was one of the paintings I always wanted to see in person. Of course I also went to the last store and bought a brochure and a commemorative medal. Not only this painting, but many others were divided on the floor, so I was able to spend a fulfilling time.

ずっと生で見てみたかった絵画の一つだったのですごく嬉しかったです。もちろん最後のショップも行ってパンフレットと記念メダルも購入しました。この絵だけではなく、他にもたくさんフロアで分けられていて充実した時間を過ごすことができました。

Unlike the common elevators in Japan, the elevator is designed as if it were inserted into the original door, which gives it a fresh feel every time I use it. The handmade look of the retrofit is also cute.

日本のよくあるザ・エレベーターと違って元々あったドアにエレベーターを入れ込んでいるような設計に利用するたびに新鮮さを感じます。後付けした手作り感もまた可愛いです。

I visited here for a weekend visit. Seeing yellow parasols and orange-roofed buildings along the sea, I felt the midsummer of Italy. Here everyone was lying on the beach with towels pulled over them, baking their bodies. I saw many families everywhere I went, so I thought it must be a popular area.

週末ビジットで訪れました。海沿いに黄色いパラソルとオレンジ屋根の建物たちを見て、イタリアの真夏を感じました。ここではみんながタオルをひいて砂浜に寝そべり、体を焼いていました。どこに行っても多くの家族連れを見たので人気のエリアなのかなと思いました。

I went to a cafe near the beach. My friends and I were surprised that the cookies, cakes, and drinks they sold were not as expensive as we expected, even though the building looked very luxurious. After all, sweet sweets and Italian cappuccino are the best combination.

ビーチの近くのカフェに行きました。建物がすごく豪華そうだったのに売っているクッキーやケーキ、ドリンクが思ったほど高くなくて友達とびっくりしました。やっぱり甘いスイーツとイタリアのカプチーノの組み合わせは最高です。

This is the statue of David, which I was looking forward to the most during this study abroad program. I have been familiar with the statue since I was a junior high school student and it was in my textbooks. I will never forget how powerful it was when I saw it in person. And it was worth coming to see it in person because his hands were bigger than I expected and his legs were strong.

この留学で一番楽しみにしていたダヴィデ像です。中学生の時から教科書に載っていてとても身近な存在でした。生で見た時の迫力は本当に忘れられません。そして思ったよりも手が大きくて足もしっかりしていて、生で見にきた甲斐がありました。

My roommate’s friend bought chicken from the supermarket and cooked it on the grill. The seasoning was lemon, butter, salt, pepper, and beer, and I wasn’t sure how it would turn out, but I was surprised at how delicious it was. I asked him to make it again.

ルームメイトの友達がスーパーマーケットでチキンを買ってきてくれてグリルで焼いてくれました。味付けがレモンにバターに塩胡椒にビールを入れていてどうなることかと思っていたけどすごく美味しくてびっくりました。ぜひまた作ってとお願いしました。

I saw someone singing on my way home from school. Soon a lot of people gathered and the place was crowded. It was a unique sight in Europe and I was happy to be there.

学校帰りのいつもの道で歌っている人を見ました。すぐにたくさんの人が集まってきて賑わっていました。ヨーロッパならではの光景だったので、その場にいられて嬉しかったです。

This is the inside of the Shinkansen that I used during my weekend visit. It was divided into two seats (upper and lower) and I felt a little lost. The interior was relatively clean and comfortable.

週末ビジットの時に利用した新幹線の中です。上下二つの席に分かれていて少し迷子になりそうでした。内装は比較的綺麗で快適に乗ることができました。
