Understanding composition
One more time we did a new composition; we could paint it with pastels in drawing class. These exercises are to understand the composition concept; it’s the most important part of a painting, and to understand how big is, how to take the balances between every part, and where to start a painting.

Composición comprendida
Una vez más hicimos una composición para pintarla con pastel en la clase de dibujo. Esto es para comprender realmente lo que es la composición pues es la parte más importante para comenzar un cuadro, pues es lo que realmente se verá, que tan grande y donde estará colocado esto además de que tiene que tener un balance para que esta funcione.

Self-portrait
This week in painting class we did an activity; we had to paint ourselves looking in a mirror It was very fun. The technique that we used was alla prima; painting the different sides of the face. It was very difficult.

Autorretrato
En la clase de pintura esta semana tuvimos una actividad muy divertida pues nos auto retratamos. Con la técnica de alla prima comenzamos pintando nuestros propios retratos mirándonos frente a un espejo y pintando los diferentes lados que tiene una cara.

Painting my classmate
As homework we had to paint an other classmate, so my classmate painted me and I painted my classmate. This was even more difficult because we had to stay in front of each other and to paint as fast as we could watch the shadows and the color.

Pintando a mi compañera
Como practica para la clase de pintura comenzamos pintándonos mi compañera y yo, yo la pinte a ella y ella me pinto a mí, esto para subir un poco la dificultad del ejercicio puesto que las dos estábamos en movimiento y tuvimos que ser rápidas al trazar y observar.

Classmate’s work
This photo shows the work of my classmate. This is the painting of me. It’s a privilege to watch this work because I spend hours working with her and also watching her development as an artist. I really enjoy being her company and this is a fun that we have the same activities.

Admirando el trabajo de mi compañera
La foto de abajo muestra el trabajo que está realizando mi compañera al pintarme. Observar el trabajo de una compañera es un privilegio pues puedo contemplar su talento y además soy participe de su desarrollo, me gusta mucho su compañía y además el que estemos trabajando juntas en esta actividad de pintarnos la una a la otra.

Inspiration from the air
This week we went to the Museo di Storia Naturale, where there is an exposition about different kinds of animal. I could watch many kinds of butterflies and insect and I got inspiration for my project. It’s always better to draw an paint watching something from the imagination.

Esta semana en la visita artística fuimos al Museo di Storia Naturale biología donde tiene una exposición de diferentes animales, ahí pude observar diferente tipos de mariposas e insectos que sirven como inspiración a mi proyecto de la maestría pues lo mejor es estar dibujando y pintando viendo algo y no desde la imaginación.

Light Fly
Dragonfly’s wings are one of my inspirations for the master project. The wings are not just transparent also have a lot of textures that can be used as a layer no just as a real paint of a wing. Being in this section of the museum was very helpful to have inspiration and motivation to do something great.

Ligereza en el vuelo
Las alas de las libélulas son parte de mi inspiración y mi proyecto, no solo por la transparencia que se encuentra en estas sino también por la textura que estas tienen. Haber ido al museo esta semana fue de mucha ayuda puesto que encontré mucha inspiración en él para aportar más a mi proyecto.

Going to the museum was really interesting because we can see all; from tiny insect and enormous animals. And we watched the different animals as well as the work that someone did for get these animals.

El recorrido por el museo fue realmente interesante pues se puede ver de todo, desde lo animales más pequeños e insectos, hasta animales realmente enormes y feroces. Además no solo es el observar a los animales que se encuentran ahí sino observar el trabajo de las personas que realizaron esos detalles para dar tanto realismo a todo lo que se puede encontrar ahí.

Human body
In the museum there is a section where you can observe the human body like bonds, veins and muscles. The part which captured my attention was the female uterus, that shows how the female body can create like a big egg to protect another human body.

El cuerpo humano
Dentro del museo hay un área donde uno puede observar las diferentes partes del cuerpo humano, desde los huesos, venas y músculos. La parte que más me impacto fue la del útero femenino, como el cuerpo femenino forma una especia de huevo dentro del útero para proteger a otro cuerpo humano.

Buon Natale
It is December and Christmas is coming so the whole city is full of Christmas lights and full of magic. In piazza Santa Croce every year there is a Christmas markets where you can find product from all around Europe, not only Italy. This market reminds me my country and the markets that also are there full of lights, colors and flavors so this season can be warmer.

Ya estamos en diciembre y se acerca la fecha de navidad, en toda la ciudad se siente el espíritu navideño. En La plaza de Santa Croce todos los años se pone un mercado de cosas navideñas y productos no solo de Italia sino de diferentes partes de Europa. Este mercado me recuerda mucho mi país pues en estas fechas se suelen poner de igual manera mercado con motivos navideños y comidas de temporada para hacer este tiempo más iluminado.

Albero di Natale
I decided to make my own Christmas tree in my house so that I can feel the season a little bit warmer. Even that I’m so far from my family and my country I love this season and I want to enjoy it, so I made a creative Christmas tree that even it is small, but it’s full of Christmas spirit. Photo:

Con motivo de estas fechas decidí hacer mi propio árbol navideño en mi casa para sentir un poco el calor de hogar en estas fechas a pesar de estar tan lejos de la familia. Compre varios adornos navideños y aun que esta sencillo y pequeño el árbol, da ese calos que se requiere.
