Painting & Drawing 12-Master Course 2015

Finishing pastels
This week we finished the semester and also we had to finish the pastel painting we’d worked for weeks. This time we finished it when we thought it was finished because it’s the most difficult part for an artist, to know when a painting is finished.

Terminado de pastel
Esta semana terminamos el primer semestre del curso y con ellos terminamos el trabajo de pastel en el que estuvimos trabajando las últimas semanas, en esta ocasión tuvimos que continuar hasta que nosotras mismas concluyéramos la pintura y supiéramos que ya estar terminada.

My Classmate
We continued the portrait painting. I was painting my classmate and my classmate was painting me. Every time I made a new detail it started looking like her but I had to be very careful with the colors and the shadows so it can be more like her.

Mi compañera de clase
Continuamos con la pintura donde yo pinte a mi compañera de clase y mi compañera de clase me pinto a mí. Conforme uno va haciendo más detalles la pintura comienza a tener más realidad, sin embargo es muy importante mantener la obra como una pieza de arte y no tratar de realizar una fotografía tal cual pues ahí donde el arte comienza a perder un poco de valor.

It is me
The Photo shows the work of my classmate. One more time I can appreciate her work. And it is helpful to know what she does something wrong, so I can learn better because the teacher tells to her something important; I’m always paying attention to what she is doing.

Soy yo
La foto de abajo muestra el trabajo de mi compañera, el retrato sobre mí que está realizando. Una vez más puedo apreciar su trabajo además de que es un aprendizaje mayor ya que cada vez que ella es retroalimentada de igual manera yo aprendo pues al saber qué es lo que necesita mejorar yo que es la teoría de lo que se debe de aplicar.

Watercolors
We had a watercolor class; usually we have this class on Saturday. This time we learnt the watercolor technique. We spent a day painting so that we could handle and appreciated this technique because it looks easy but it’s quite more difficult.

Acuarelas
Tuvimos una clase donde aprendimos la técnica de la acuarela, estuvimos un día solo pintando para saber cómo manejar y admirar esta técnica pues aunque parece sencilla no lo es como todas las técnicas tiene su manera de ser utilizada.

Secret halls
This week we went to Palazzo Vechio for the art visit. It was a fun art visit because we could see the secret halls between the walls. These secret halls are all around the castle but most of them are in the Francesco room’s that was his alchemy lab.

Pasadizos secretos
Esta semana fuimos al Palazzo Vechio para la visita de arte, fue un recorrido interesante pues nos mostraron los pasadizos secretos que hay en el castillo que eran lo que usaban en aquellos tiempos los Medici para moverse en el palacio si algo ocurría. Estos pasadizos se encuentran en diferentes partes del castillo, la más asombrosa es la que está en el cuarto que usaba Francesco como su laboratorio de alquimia.

Alchemy’s room
This is nowadays the room of alchemy looks. This room is full of paintings that show how the room was before. The secret halls are all over these paintings and you have to go through the painting, you open a door and find it is like a real secret.

El cuarto de alquimia
Así es como luce actualmente el cuarto de alquimia que era de Francesco de Medici. Este cuarto actualmente están lleno de pinturas por todas partes que muestran lo que era en ese entonces el cuarto, además de que estas pinturas son las que esconden los pasadizos secretos.

The room of 500
This room is the biggest room in the castle, with an amazing ceiling. We could go upstairs and see how the construction is, however we saw the dimensions first and the detail that made everything more interesting.

El cuarto de los 500
El cuarto de los 500 es el cuarto más amplio que se encuentra en el Palazzo Vechio, con un techo impresionante. Pudimos subir a ver cómo está construido sin embargo antes de ver su construcción observamos la dimensión y lo que realmente amplio que esta además de los detalles que cada pieza tiene lo que lo hace un trabajo estupendo.

Another amazing ceiling
The way for which the ceiling is hanging, is with big hooks which hook on the ceiling and there are other hooks which hold the roof. The photo shows a ceiling, one of my favorites, that is on a room full of the Florentine badge.

Otro techo estupendo.
La manera en la que el techo se sostiene es a través de unos ganchos, estos sostiene lo que se ve en el interior y en intervalos hay otros que sostienen el techo que cubre el castillo. El techo de la foto de abajo fue uno de mis favoritos pues se encuentra en un cuarto lleno del símbolo de Florencia realmente hermoso y lo más interesante es el acabado que tiene cada parte de él.

Beautiful furniture
There are furniture in the castle. This one here was my favorite because it shows a real Florentine work; I think it is really important to know because we are in this city and it shows what the typical work is.

Un mueble hermoso
En el Palazzo Vechio se encuntran diferentes mueble como el de la foto de abajo. Este representa un verdadero trabajo florentino lo que lo hace realmente admirable pues es cada de talle que tiene y considero realmente importante conocer el verdadero trabajo florentino.

A Florentine room
This photo shows the room is full of Florence badge. This room was my favorite because it could feel warm inside, like being hug by Florence. I like the colors, gold and blue, that you can see all over the walls, and what is really interesting is the badge is a iris which is a flower land, and makes reference to the name Florence.

Un cuarto florentino
Esta foto es del cuarto que está completamente rodeado del escudo de Florencia, es una de las paredes, me gusta la combinación de los colores dorado y azul. El símbolo de Florencia es un iris que es una flor lo que representa claramente el nombre de la ciudad. En este cuarto me sentí cobijada y acogida por la ciudad como si fuera algo que te abrazara y te diera la Bienvenida.
