Brush-stroke with ink
This week we continue with the technique of brush and ink but with a bigger format, that is useful to develop the ability. First we draw with pencil the sculpture in a big size of paper so then we could start the chiaroscuro with the brush always using more water than ink.

Pinceladas de tinta
Esta semana empezamos con la técnica de tinta china y pincel pero en un formato más grande, esto para tener desarrollar la habilidad y continuar con la técnica. Primero dibujamos en un formato más grande a lápiz para así proceder a realizar el chiaroscuro con el pincel siempre utilizando más agua que tinta.

Color and color
In painting class we had the introduction of color, how to make color and apply it. To make color one has to see if it is cold or warm, how the saturation and the tint are. We made an exercise trying to get the color of our skin so then we tried to get the colors of what we saw. Applying the color is one of the ways to get the shade of the object.

Colorín Colorado
En la clase de pintura tuvimos introducción al color con la pintura, como crear el color y aplicarlo. Para realizar el color se tiene que ver si este es frio o cálido, la saturación que se tiene y el matiz del mismo. Hicimos unos ejercicios tratando de obtener el color de nuestra propia piel, y después conseguir el color de lo que veíamos y obteniendo el color es como se puede obtener la forma del objeto a pintar.

Red Tomato
Due to introduction of the color in painting class we had to do an exercise of painting a tomato. First we had to make it on black and white and then put color on it. This exercise was quite difficult because trying to get the color was so confused and even we had another class to correct and apply the color.

Rojo Tomate
De acuerdo a la introducción del color en la clase de pintura, tuvimos un ejercicio de pintar un tomate, primeramente a blanco y negro para después agregar el color. Este fue un ejercicio bastante difícil ya que conseguir el color resultaba muy confuso e incluso después tuvimos una corrección de cómo obtener y empezar para aplicar el color.

Red, Red
To put color on a painting we first have to thin the painting with a special substance so that we would have the transparency of the color. The color goes more liquid and that is how we can melt it with the first painting we did on black and white and also fist of all we have to draw up the shade of the object, in this case it’s the tomato.

Colorado, Colorado
Para poder agregar color a una pintura primeramente se tiene que diluir la pintura con una sustancia que hace resaltar la trasparencia del color, agregando esta sustancia liquida el color se vuelve más líquido y así es como el color puede penetrar y fundirse con la fondo que ya se tenía pintado, además de comenzar delineando y especificando el verdadero tamaño del tomate o del objeto a pintar.

Fragile
This week was the presentation of the first Project which consists on creates an image based on a different sign system to create a concept with a topic that the piece of art would represent. My project is about the fragility of the wing of a butterfly and its strength. I will continue this project to make it better and give it more strength to create something bigger.

Esta semana fue la presentación del primer proyecto, el cual es crear una imagen basado en diferentes sistemas y con diferentes técnicas para crear un concepto basado en un tema que se interpretara en la obra. Lo que yo quise interpretar fue la fragilidad del ala de una mariposa pero la fuerza que ésta tiene. Continuare trabajando en este proyecto para darle más fuerza y poder concretar algo mejor.

Critic that is works
Before starting classes, we hang our works on the wall so that we can see them and critic them, and see what is working and what is not, so we watch the painting and we read them better from what we learned.

Crítica constructiva
Antes de empezar la clase ponemos las pinturas que hemos estado haciendo en la pared para así poder observarlas mejor y tener una crítica directa de lo que se ha estado haciendo y en qué aspectos se debe de mejorar y en que otros se está aplicando bien.

The last medieval
This week we went to the last medieval castle that is in town a museum called Palazzo Davanzati. This place is really amazing because it still keeps the medieval from that time. You can appreciate the fresco paintings on the wall, and the construction with the kitchen on the ceiling for prevent emergency like fire.

El ultimo medieval
Esta semana fuimos al único castillo medieval que queda en la ciudad. Actualmente es un museo llamado el Palazzo Davanzati. Este lugar es realmente asombroso puesto que sigue conservando todo lo medieval que tenía en aquel tiempo. Se puede apreciar la pintura del fresco en las paredes, también la construcción de tantos pisos teniendo hasta arriba la cocina en caso de que todo lo demás se incendiara.

A beautiful ceiling
We have gone to many visits around town and I have found a ceiling with great decoration in the castles. These ceilings are tall and all made of wood, so you can appreciate not just the painting decoration also the work of the wood. I think this is a real Florentine work.

Hermoso techo
En las diferentes visitas que hemos tenido hemos encontrado la mayoría de los techos decorados. Son techos altos de madera con grande vigas donde se puede apreciar el trabajo tanto de la madera como de la pintura que hay en él. Creo que este es un trabajo realmente florentino.

A special space
In the visit to Palazzo Davanzati we know how they used the bathrooms in those times. We are aware that we were in a house of one of the richest families in Florence so that means that the bathroom was very big and luxury for those times.

Un espacio especial
En la visita al Palazzo Davanzati conocimos como eran los baños de aquel entonces y siendo el caso que nos encontrábamos en la casa de una de las familias ricas de Florencia esto significaba que aquellos baños realmente eran grandes y lujosos para lo que eran los baños para las personas de escasos recursos.

Art on fabric
In this photo below we can appreciate the work on the fabric, but this is a fabric made by hand. This work could be so expensive because there was a real good work and nowadays it is appreciated like something artistic.

En esta foto podemos apreciar el trabajo hecho a mano que realizaba tejiendo. Este trabajo llegaba a ser muy caro puesto la labor es realmente admirable, incluso hoy en día se puede apreciar el verdadero trabajo artístico de conseguir la puntada exacta para lograr esos acabados.
