I never dreamt I could pursue my passion professionally, but after being given this opportunity at Accademia Riaci in beautiful Italy, it seems more than possible. With the help of a few well-known professionals in Florence, I can continue to learn and blossom as an artist.

Painting Drawing vol.5 (One-year 2019 – Kristin)
The next step was experimentation. This step, although simple in execution, was difficult for me because I had to let go of any fear and simply let the colors flow. Because I was nervous, I experimented on my smaller piece first. I also used some pages in my sketchbook to play with the colors I preferred. I wanted to use neutral greens and blues as a base and then add pops of more vibrant, warm colors.
I came to be much happier with the larger piece, which I titled “Nuovo Resiro,” to highlight its New Renaissance style and the progress of patience it took to complete. I’m very happy with its 3-D effect.
This same week upon completion, I was offered a free 20-piece spot in an art exhibition in Piacenza. With the discovery and excitement of a new style, we moved on to another similar subject to create a cohesive collection of work.
